Toronto, ON – August 29, 2024 – Afro-Canadian Development Inc. is thrilled to announce its Third Annual Back to School Aid event, taking place this Saturday, August 31, 2024, from 12:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Dear Mama Banquet Hall, 1270 Finch Avenue West, Unit-19, North York, M3J 3J7.

This year’s event is poised to significantly impact the provision of essential school supplies to over 300 underprivileged students in the Greater Toronto Area. In addition to distributing backpacks, notebooks, and other necessary items, the event will feature a range of fun activities, including face painting, mascots, snacks, and a photo booth, creating a lively and supportive atmosphere for all attendees.

“Our Back-to-School Aid program is about more than just school supplies; it’s about giving children the tools and confidence they need to thrive in the classroom and beyond. We are deeply grateful to our supporters who have gone above and beyond to make this event possible. “ said Emmanuel Animodi, Director of Afro-Canadian Development Inc. “

We sincerely thank the Honda Canada Foundation, TD Bank’s Black Employee Network and our individual donors for their outstanding support of our Back-to-School Aid 2024 program. Honda Canada Foundation not only sponsored the program but also led a company-wide backpack drive. TD’s Black Employee Network too organized backpack drives across multiple branches in the GTA. Their combined efforts are invaluable investments in our community’s future, ensuring that every child has the resources needed to succeed.

Afro-Canadian Development Inc. invites community members, donors, and media to join in this vital initiative, contributing to the academic success and well-being of the next generation.
