Toronto, Ontario | June 12, 2023 – After the resounding success of our STEM Program, which took place from January to June 2023, Afro Canadian Development Inc. is thrilled to announce the extension of our FREE STEM Program until December 2023. This extended initiative, made possible by the generous support of the KPMG Foundation, Telus Friendly Future Foundation, and Honda Canada Foundation, allows us to continue empowering young innovators who aspire to transform the world through remarkable innovations.
In this extended phase of the STEM Program, Afro Canadian Development Inc. has partnered with Ultimate Coders, renowned providers of online and in-person computer coding and robotics classes for children from SK to Grade 12 since 2018. Ultimate Coders offers a unique, game-based curriculum and system that caters to the needs of parents while keeping children engaged in the learning process.
Key features of the extended STEM Program include:
- Weekly Coding & Robotics Sessions: From July to December 2023, participants will have the opportunity to engage in exciting coding and robotics sessions every Saturday.
- Age-Appropriate Sessions: Separate sessions are available for two age groups, 6-12 years and 13-18 years, ensuring tailored learning experiences for each participant.
- Comprehensive Curriculum: Participants will explore new courses such as Python, Dash & Dot, and CUE, gaining valuable skills in game design and app development.
- Engaging and Fun Learning: The program employs a game-based curriculum, making the sessions interactive and enjoyable for all participants.
Afro Canadian Development Inc. is delighted to offer all sessions of the extended STEM Program completely free of charge, ensuring that access to quality STEM education is available to all interested children and youths. Furthermore, all participating children will receive accredited certificates and STEM take-home tool kits upon completion of sessions.
