North York, ON – August 26, 2026 – Afro Canadian Development Inc. is proud to announce the successful completion of its Fifth 2026 Back-to-School Aid Initiative, a community-focused program designed to help children and families prepare for the upcoming school year by providing essential school supplies and creating a positive, welcoming back-to-school experience.
As part of this year’s initiative, 427 backpacks filled with high-quality school supplies were distributed to children in the community. The event brought together families, children, community members, volunteers, corporate partners, local organizations, and special guests in support of a common goal: helping children start the school year prepared, confident, and supported.
The initiative reflects Afro Canadian Development Inc.’s continued commitment to supporting children and families and strengthening communities through practical assistance, community engagement, and collaborative partnerships.

427 Backpacks Distributed
A central objective of the 2026 initiative was to ensure that children could return to school with essential supplies. Through the generosity of supporters and the dedication of volunteers, 427 backpacks filled with school supplies were distributed. The backpacks and supplies provided practical assistance to families while also sending an important message to children: their education, their goals, and their future matter. Behind the successful distribution of 427 backpacks was a dedicated team of volunteers who helped organize and operate the event.
