North York, ON – October 14, 2025 – This Thanksgiving, Afro Canadian Development Inc. continued its heartfelt tradition of giving back to the community by serving warm meals and water to over 150 people facing homelessness across Toronto. Through our Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive, our dedicated volunteers came together to share love, warmth, and compassion with those who need it most.

Since its inception in 2022, our Thanksgiving Food Drive has reached over 500 homeless and underprivileged individuals, offering not only food but also a sense of dignity, belonging, and hope. What began as a small act of kindness has grown into a community-driven effort that reflects our deep commitment to humanity and collective care.

“At Afro Canadian Development Inc., we believe Thanksgiving is more than just a holiday — it’s a reminder to extend gratitude through action,” said Emmanuel Animodi, Director of Afro Canadian Development Inc. “Each meal we serve is a symbol of love and solidarity with our community members who are struggling. Our mission is to make sure that no one feels forgotten, especially during a time meant for togetherness and reflection.”

The purpose behind our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive goes beyond addressing hunger – it’s about restoring dignity, fostering connection, and creating hope. For many of the people we meet, a simple meal and a kind word can mean the world. Through this initiative, Afro Canadian Development Inc. continues to strengthen the spirit of compassion and inclusivity that defines our organization.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our incredible volunteers, donors, and community partners who make this program possible year after year. Our small acts of kindness can create meaningful change and that compassion truly has the power to transform lives.
